'd like to create a league using top players from the past 27 or so years. Is there a way to select which historical players are included in a league, and is is possible to use career data rather than a specific year?

There are a couple of Career Average databases out there. I think, you could just edit the master.txt file to set the starting year for each player to the year you wanted them to come in to the league. You'd also have to edit their batters.txt & pitchers.txt files to match their starting years.

I don't know if the players age has any effect on their performance - but i think it does - so you'd have to edit their birth date too, since a 50 year old former all star, would be better off on the golf course. One of the members here who know abit more then me should be able to tell you exactly.
