09/03/1973 - Giants Beat Dodgers 7-6 with Another Blast from Kingman

Davey Lopes did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Los Angeles Dodgers from losing, 7-6, to the San Francisco Giants at Candlestick Park. Lopes was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. San Francisco is now 62-74, Los Angeles 78-61.

Dave Rader, who is tied for 8th in the NL with a .306 batting average, aided the San Francisco cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once

Giants first baseman Dave Kingman delivered a 3-run homer off LHP Al Downing.
