07/01/1973 - Braves Bang Out 8-3 Win Versus San Francisco

Atlanta right fielder Ralph Garr was instrumental in his team's 8-3 win over the San Francisco Giants. Garr, who is tied for 9th in the NL in stolen bases with 13, went 3-5 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Braves. The Braves now own a record of 41-42.

Dusty Baker, who is tied for 3rd in the NL in stolen bases with 20, chipped in for Atlanta with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"I really like what we did out there today," Baker said after the game.

One of the few highlights for the Giants was a solo homer off his doppleganger RHP Ron Reed.
