Toronto's Turnover Begins:
As expected the Toronto Maple Leafs have shaken up the staff department in hopes to help move forward with their newly rebuilt roster for this upcoming season. The Following Changes have been made:
General Manager: Doug Gilmour
Coach: Gary Roberts
Assistant Coaches: Tie Domi, Wendel Clark, Félix Potvin, Tomáš Kaberle & Mats Sundin

Doug Gilmour's first move as General Manager seen:
G, 23, Garret Sparks - RD, 24, Nikita Zaitsev - RW, 22, Nikita Soshnikov & A 3rd Round NHL Draft Pick in 2017
Head to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for:
G, 22, Matt Murray - C, 26, Carter Rowney & RW, 24, Bryan Rust
Aug.11th.2016 - Morning
Doug Gilmour makes another move which was filled with mixed feelings from the Toronto Nation. The trade seen the departures of:
LW, 27, James van Riemsdyk & RW, 29, Leo Komarov
Moving to the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes sent to Toronto the following player:
LW, 24, Jeff Skinner
Aug.11th.2016 - Late Afternoon
Dougie made another trade proving no one's safe on the roster as they send:
C, 25, Nazem Kadri & A 4th Round Pick in the 2017 NHL Draft
To the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for:
RD, 21, Rasmus Ristolainen

Toronto's Captains:
General Manager: Doug Gilmour had a staff meeting this afternoon (Sep.28.2016) to determine who would be wearing the respectful Captain "C" and the Assists "A". After a long process, Doug Gilmour released the information to the fans in a press conference:
The Captain will be none other than 2016 1st overall pick, Auston Matthews. The youngster at the ripe age of 19 is expected to be a future franchise player for the Leafs.
His assistants will be RD, 22, Morgan Rielly & RD, 30, Roman Polak.
When asked about making Matthews the Captain, Gilmour simple stated "He's expected to be our guy for a long time. He will need to be the leader as we move on from the rebuild to becoming a successful contending team again. We have faith in this kid and know he's going to prove he deserves it."
