Montreal Canadiens (11-8-1) at Philadelphia Flyers (7-10-1)

Montreal heads to the City of Brotherly Love and will have made some roster changes. To start with Montreal has sent down G Steve Burris to the AHL IceCaps and brought up G Richard Day. Montreal brought him up to play in game 1 of back to back games and he will be demoted after the game.

Montreal has also demoted D Nathan Vallee. Montreal will promote LD Andrew Rickford to the NHL. Montreal has demoted LW Matthew Amadio and RW Daric Dufour to St John's of the AHL and have promoted while LW Jiri Bohm and RW Josh Lancaster will be promoted to Montreal.

All four call-ups will be playing tonight. Jiri Bohm will play on the 3rd line with Melvin Swiney and Ronnie Marvin while Josh Lancaster will C the 4th line. Andrew Rickford will play on the 3rd defensive pairing with Clint Arrington.

The Flyers are led by G Rob Albas. The 31 year old from Winnipeg, Man is 6-8-0 with 1 SO, a 2.65 GAA and .919 save %. In 129 career games he has 63 wins, a 2.65 GAA to match this season and a .920 save % with 10 SO's. Albas has spent his whole career as a Flyer.

LD Melvin Allen is a durable playmaking defenseman. The 22 year old is in his 3rd season as a Flyer, in 18 games so far he has 1 goal and 7 points with 39 PIMs and a -1 rating. In 178 career NHL games he has 27 goals, 52 assists for 79 points with 218 PIMs and a -4 rating.

On RD, 19 year old Brady Kipling is already considered a leader on the team. Kipling is strong defensively with great on ice vision. He was selected 94th overall in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft after finishing his junior career in Cape Breton of the QMJHL. In 1 plus season with Philly, he has 4 goals and 20 points with 16 PIMs and a +11 rating.

Philadelphia will start Rob Albas in tonights game while Montreal will have a few NHL debutes including G RIchard Day.

It took nearly 7 minutes for G Richard Day to face his 1st NHL shot, It was taken from the blue line by RW Keegan Smith, who has scored 27 goals in both the 1st two seasons of the NHL for the Flyers. In all Day made 8 saves in the first period as the teams were unable to score. Montreal had 8 shots as well. Josh Lancaster was limited to 2:45 in ice time in the 1st, he had a hit and a shot block. Jiri Bohm had 5:03 in ice time while Andrew Rickford played 6:06.

In the 2nd period, the Flyers never got a shot until nearly 8 minutes in as the Habs controlled the play. The game remained scoreless after 2 with Montreal out shooting the Flyers 18 to 14.

Montreal opens the scoring at 4:02 of the 3rd period, LW Batsaikhany Vanoosten scored for the 3rd time this year and its 1-0. The Flyers get their 1st shot of the 3rd period at 7:57 and they made it count, RD Landon Murray gets his 2nd of the year. Philadelphia makes it 2-1 on the PP as RW Keegan Smith collects his 5 of the season. Montreal ties it up 2-2 at 10:53 when C Dave Wright collects his 8th of the year. Montreal's LW Batsaikhany Vanoosten left the game with just over 3 minutes left in the period, this will give Jiri Bohm some 2nd line ice time. Montreal takes a penalty at 17:53 when Dave Wright is called for Hooking and they will have to kill a Flyer PP. Montreal kills it off and the period is over. We are heading to O/T as Montreal out shoots Philadelphia 27 to 23 in the game so far.

Montreal gets a PP opportunity in O/T as the Flyers are called for cross-checking just 30 seconds in. C David Wright puts this one away with his PP goal and makes Richard Day a winner in his 1st NHL start at 2:08 of overtime.

C Dave Wright is named the games 1st star with his 2 goals and 17:35 of icetime. The 27 year old Wright has 9 goals and 15 points with 38 PIMs and a -4 rating in 21 games. Wright has played in 167 NHL games, he has 53 career goals, 63 assists for 116 points and 175 PIMs
