Considering the degree to which the real-life NHL has frequently realigned itself, either in response to expansion (in large ways in 1974-75, 1993-94, 1998-99; in small ways for 1970-71, 79-80), team relocations (1982-83, 1995-96), as well as just general realignments (1981-82, 2013-14), it seems to me not having this is something of a realism oversight.
