IF you spread it out it would last until the end of the year prior to first option. So if option 1 is in 2025,and it is currently 2020, you would pay him 83M from 2020 to 2024, because 2025 is an option year.


You can also pay the entirety now if you prefer, but even rich teams don't typically have that kind of money lying around.



Even though you didn't ask for it, my advice would be to keep the player and try to trade their salary. Heck, retain 50% of it. It's still way less than just eating 83 mil.
