Rumors out of New York are circulating that Highlanders 3B Joe Yeager has asked to be traded.

The top of the third ended with Sheckard striking out for the 20th time this season as McIntire had a no-hitter through three.

In the top of the fourth, the Cubs got their first run before they got their first hit as two errors led to a Steinfeldt sacrifice fly that scored Schulte.

With one out in the top of the fifth, Moran singled to give the Cubs their first hit of the game. But he would be thrown out trying to steal second.

After six: Chicago 1 Brooklyn 0.

In the bottom of the seventh, Batch tied the game with an RBI double.

In the top of the ninth, Slagle swiped second for his 10th stolen base of the season. But he would be thrown out at home by McCarthy while trying to score from second on a Moran single.

The Superbas went down in order in the bottom of the ninth and the game went into extras.

After nine: Chicago 1 Brooklyn 1.

The Superbas got the winning run on first in the bottom of the tenth but McIntire struck out to end the inning.

In the top of the eleventh, the Cubs loaded the bases with one out. But Reulbach grounded into the 4-2-3 double play.

In the bottom of the eleventh, Alperman delivered a walk off RBI single.

Final score: Brooklyn 2 Chicago 1 11 innings.
