The third game of the four game series in New York between the Cubs and the Giants. While the Giants have run their winning streak to ten, the Cubs have lost four out of their last five.

Strang struck out for the 20th time this season to end the bottom of the first.

In the top of the second, the Cubs had runners at first and second with nobody out. Slagle laid down the sacrifice bunt but Devlin's throw was wild, resulting in a two base error that allowed Steinfeldt to score from second. Moran then brought in a pair with a single.

In the bottom of the second, Browne hit a sacrifice fly to score Devlin and put the Giants on the board. Mertes then swiped second for his 20th stolen base of the season. He would go on to score on a Dahlen ground out to first.

Sheckard led off the top of the third with a walk. It was the 20th free pass issued by McGinnity this season. But he would be caught stealing second.

After three: Chicago 3 New York 2.

Tinker led off the top of the fourth with a double and then moved around the bases on a couple of ground outs with Hofman picking up the RBI.

In the bottom of the fourth, Browne singled to load the bases with one out and extend his hit streak to 11 games. Dahlen then cleared them with a triple to give the Giants the lead. It was his 157th career triple, a new NL record.

McGinnity led off the top of the fifth by striking out Beebe for his 40th K of the season.

After six: New York 5 Chicago 4.

In the top of the eighth, Chance tied the game with an inside the park home run.

The Giants went down in order in the bottom of the ninth and we were headed into extra innings.

After nine: Chicago 5 New York 5.

In the top of the tenth, the Cubs loaded the bases with one out. Tinker then hit a sacrifice fly to score Evers to give the Cubs the lead.

The Giants put a man on first with one out and Bob Wicker came in to pitch for the Cubs. Two fly outs later and the Giants ten game winning streak had finally come to an end.

Final score: Chicago 6 New York 5 10 innings.
