In the bottom of the first, Seymour doubled to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. But he was left stranded at second.

In the top of the fourth, the Cubs loaded the bases with one out. Steinfeldt hit a fly ball to center for the second out. Sheckard then flew out to right to retire the side.

In the bottom of the fourth, a single by Schlei combined with an error by Schulte to score Delahanty from second.

In the top of the fifth, Beebe tied the game with an RBI single.

In the bottom of the fifth, Delahanty gave the Reds the lead back with an RBI double.

In the top of the sixth, Chance tied the game back up with an RBI single. The Cubs would go on to load the bases with two out. Kling then lined out to third to retire the side.

After six: Chicago 2 Cincinnati 2.

In the bottom of the ninth, Barry delivered the walk off RBI single.

Final score: Cincinnati 3 Chicago 2.
