09/22/1973 - Padres Roll to 8-1 Win Over Giants
The exploits of left fielder Leron Lee, who is tied for 7th in the NL in doubles with 33, helped the San Diego Padres defeat the San Francisco Giants, 8-1. Lee went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. San Diego is now 70-85, San Francisco 71-84.
Fred Kendall, who is tied for 3rd in the NL in triples with 11, aided the San Diego cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the catcher was 1-4.
"I really like what we did out there today," Kendall said after the game.
Padres starter LHP Randy Jones only mistake was hanging a curve to Giants slugger Dave Kingman.
