Game 38
2 – Chicago
3 – Royals
WP – Charlie Leibrandt (3-5)
LP – Tom Seaver (3-4)
SV – Dan Quisenberry (3)
Two out lightning against Tom Terrific in the 6th. Concepcion reached on a hit batter, Wilson singled, and White walked. Brett then singled in Concepcion and Wilson. That put us up for good. In 8 innings, Leibrandt scattered 9 hits and both of his walks were intentional.
Game 39
8 – Chicago
3 – Royals
WP – Britt Burns (6-2)
LP – Buddy Black (2-4)
Felt closer than it was. Down 4-1 but Farr loaded the bases and Carlton Fisk hit a grand slam.
Game 40
3 – Chicago
0 – Royals
WP – Floyd Bannister (3-5)
LP – Mark Gubicza (3-3)
Bannister pitched a great game, 5-hit shutout.

OF Robert Bell won the Florida State League Player of the Week. He had 3 HR's and 7 RBI's. He's hitting .325 with 7 HR's and 16 RBI's on the year.
A quarter of the way through the season and dang is it looking bleak! Balboni, Orta, McRae, and Motley have gone cold (All hitting around .215 in May). Concepcion is permanently cold.
Bud Black and Mark Gubicza had ERAs under 4 for May. Jackson, Leibrandt and Saberhagen were under 3!
