He's not right.
There is a hell of a difference between saying "it's hot outside; I know because I went outside" and saying "it's 95 degrees Fahrenheit; I measured it under laboratory conditions." And it's crazy to argue otherwise!
Further, exit velocity
reliably correlates with outcomes. It is usefully predictive. Believe it or not, high-speed cameras and computers outperform the eye test. By a lot! They catch things we don't, they catch them sooner, and they tell us stories about the future that are worth tens of millions of dollars to baseball franchises.
