2074 Season (4/16-4/18 @ Orlando City)

4/16/74 (14 of 162): Phoenix (Ash Newman) @ Orlando (Steve Unger)
Suns edge City in extras, 7-6.

2B Lucas Milbrandt put six solid at-bats together for the Suns finishing 3-6 with 2 RBI, including a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th that sealed the win for the Suns. Through 14 games, former Boilermaker, Milbrandt, has hit 4 doubles for Phoenix. While Donny rode the pine in this one, Derek went 2-5, with 2 runs and a double in the 6th. While 3B Pepper Grant did strikeout 3 times in the game, he also managed to put up his 5th double in the 6th inning to drive in a run. Starter Ash Newman gave up 4 runs in 3 innings of work.

4/17/74 (15 of 162): Phoenix - Del Miller (1-0, 4.15 ERA) @ Orlando – Nacho Valadez (0-1, 7.71 ERA)
Multi-HR Day for Nakamura as Suns Overpower City, 9-6
Phoenix catcher Yo****aro Nakamura had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 9-6 win over the Orlando City. Del Miller earned the win for Phoenix. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. The City fall to 5-9 and continue their wobbly start to the 2074 season. Donny, after sitting out the previous game, went 0-4 with 4 K’s… Yikes. Derek went 1-5 with his only hit coming in the 1st inning. Brutal day for the Jeter Bros. Pepper went 0-3, but only had 1 K – that’s called improvement.

4/18/74 (16 of 162) Phoenix – Isaiah Zuno (1-1, 7.47 ERA) @ Orlando – Jacob Shartzer (1-1, 2.30 ERA)
City Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
Getting a good performance from the second baseman Jaden Utley, the Orlando City defeated the Phoenix Suns, 7-5. Utley was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI for the City. Orlando is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 15 games. Utley came through with some timely hitting for Orlando. With the score 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth and one down, Utley hit a 2-1 fastball for a 2-run single. His 18th hit of the season made it 5-3, Orlando. The Jeter Bros went a combined 4-8 and Derek had 3 RBIs in the losing effort. Pepper? 0-4 with 3 K’s.

Note: San Diego Chargers SP Prior Balazs pitched a no-no at home against the Philadelphia 76ers. The former Texas Tech standout completed the first no-hitter of a Red Raider in the history of Strange Verse. Balazs faced 27 batters, had 9 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks in a dominating effort.
