After what can only be described as a boneheaded move by Rangers manager Ted Williams, the White Sox bring a 7 game win streak into today's matchup.

When you are this big of an underdog, you just can't be giving games away.

Neither offense can get anything going early as Rich Hand does not allow a base runner in the first three innings.

After three: Chicago 0 Texas 0.

The White Sox turn their first hit of the game into the first run of the game in the fourth as Dick Allen collects season RBI #25.

Carlos May added an RBI in the sixth.

After six: Chicago 2 Texas 0.

A passed ball in the seventh brings in Chicago's third run.

A pair of walks helped Chicago load the bases in the eighth and then Ed Hermann got an RBI single and Jay Johnstone added a 3-run triple. That was all for Hand as Mike Paul took the mound. Orta grounded out to bring Johnstone home to complete the crooked number inning.

Jim Shellenback made his first appearance of the season for Texas and got a meaningless 1-2-3 ninth.

Final score: Chicago 8 Texas 0.
