At least it's not a clean sweep. The Royals are just a game behind the White Sox in West standings. The season series between the Rangers and Royals is 2-2.

A throwing error allowed Biittner to score the first run of the game in the first inning. Burroughs then followed up with a sac fly. Despite the Rangers offensive woes, Burroughs is third in the league in RBI.

Bob Oliver got the Royals on the board with a solo home run in the bottom of the second.

Texas got the run back in the top of the third on an RBI single by Frank Howard. But the Royals pitcher put one in the seats in the bottom of the third.

After three: Texas 3 Kansas City 2.

The Rangers loaded the bases with nobody out in the top of the sixth. Vic Harris then drew a one out walk to bring a run home. But that is all Texas would get.

After six: Texas 4 Kansas City 2.

The Royals got a run in the eighth as Horacio Pina replaced Bosman on the mound.

But Pina was able to close it out and get the save.

Final score: Texas 4 Kansas City 3.
