The Heartland Baseball League has just finished it's 44th season.
The 44th Heartland Baseball League regular season is in the books and it was another exciting campaign. After the hot start Springfield coasted to the South League but they
must face their biggest enemy in the Lafayette Stars. Springfield won nine of sixteen meetings with Lafayette but the Stars actually out scored the Storm 63-61 in those games.
Springfield led the South in both runs scored(802) and runs against(526) while Lafayette was third in both.
Rochester didn't claim the North League title until the second to last day of the season. They finished just two games up on the Kenosha Jackfish. The Reapers
also won nine of sixteen from Kenosha but they outscored the Jackfish 67-56 in those games. On the season Kenosha finished first in the North in runs against(530) while
Rochester was second(542). Rochester scored five more runs than Kenosha overall.
