2063 Season (MLB)

October/November 2063:
MLB: The Portland Timbers - wildcard entrant and holder of the worst record of all the eligible playoff teams, pulled off an incredible, come from behind, World Series victory over the NL East winning Brooklyn Citizens. Portlands improbable run saw them run through the Chicago Fire, Toronto Reds BC, and the Dallas Cowboys on their way to the World Series.

2063 Playoffs:
World Series: Portland Timbers defeat Brooklyn Citizens (4-3)
ALCS: Portland Timbers defeat Dallas Cowboys (4-1)
NLCS: Brooklyn Citizens defeat San Francisco 49ers (4-3)
WS MVP: RF Benjamin Herrera .444/.500/.778, 2HR, 6RBI (Brooklyn Citizens; 11th overall pick out of LSU in 2061)

2063 AL Boyce Rigg Award (MVP): LF Lucas Ross (Toronto Reds BC, 26, 24th overall pick out of Villanova in 2058). The top hitter put up a .295 batting average this year, as well as a .381 on-base percentage. He played 158 games and racked up 179 hits, 33 doubles, 2 triples, 47 home runs, 123 RBIs and 107 runs scored.
2063 NL Boyce Rigg Award (MVP): 1B Dave Pinchak (Brooklyn Citizens, 24, 15th overall pick out of Oregon State in 2060). The Brooklyn star also put up a .422 on-base percentage this year, with 224 hits, 39 doubles, 8 triples, 19 home runs, 108 RBIs and 112 runs scored.
2063 AL Vic Pacheco Award (Top Pitcher): SP Rob Bishop (Jacksonville Jaguars, 32, 53rd overall pick out of the University of Miami in 2052). He started 32 games, running up a 18-7 record and a 2.34 ERA. Bishop held opponents to a .218 average while striking out 316, walking 45 and allowing 180 hits in 227.1 innings of work.
2063 NL Vic Pacheco Award (Top Pitcher): SP Josiah Weber (Phoenix Suns, 24, 3rd overall pick out of Oklahoma State in 2060). Weber compiled a 16-13 record in 34 starts, tallied 365 strikeouts in 260 innings and recorded a 3.08 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .228 batting average against him.

Shortlist:
SS Derek Jeter Jr. (Pittsburgh Pirates, 25) - .300/.380/.377, 6HR, 38RBI in 113 Games with a 1.1 WAR. Jeter was unable to repeat as an All-Star after his first selection last year and missed significant time with a fractured rib.
SS Donny Jeter (Dallas Cowboys, 25) - .302/.360/.465, 10HR, 41 RBI in 61 games with a 1.0 WAR. Donny missed considerable time with a multitude of back issues.
SS Darryl Jeter (New York Jets, 25) – Continues to toil in minors with a potential rating that makes it unlikely he will spend any time in the MLB.
RF John Kruk (Green Bay Packers, 35) - .282/.374/.403, 17HR, 58 RBI in 160 games with a 1.1 WAR. Krukers scored his 1000th career Major League run on 7/20/2063. He also hit a Grand Slam against the New York Jets, so that’s fun.
RF Dave Winfield (Los Angeles Galaxy, 26) - .261/.332/.367, 8HR, 43 RBI in 104 games with a -0.3 WAR. Winfield’s development has stalled and his potential rating continues to plummet. He is currently out with torn quadriceps, which sounds pretty painful.

Shortlisted Nerds (Former NCAA MIT Equations players):
RF Paulo Noah (Vancouver Whitecaps, 24, 55th overall pick out of MIT in 2060) - .256/.332/.413, 20HR, 72 RBI in 143 games with a 1.2 WAR. Won NL Player of the Week in September.
