well lets move on to season three...Early on the Predators were enjoying a 17 point lead in the division until Cole got injured and put on IR and the two hot prospects in the MML were busts so a trade was made to get Pittsburgh's starting goalie (and a second round pick) with a few more wins but even he faltered losing the last two regular season games but the Predators had enough points in the bank to win the division title but not the president's trophy. After losing game 1 of the first round tactics were adjusted and the team found their groove again taking Las Vegas in 6 (after Las Vegas won game 4 in 3OT 1-0 and new comer Eckerd needing only 17 saves for a 3-0 shutout in game 5 before taking game 6 5-1) and had no problems with Dallas in round two getting a 4-0 sweep 3rd round California Wave despite recording a 2-0 shutout in game four had their dreams ended in 5 as Nashville exploded with vengeance with a 5-2 victory and a 4-1 series clinch.
North Carolina Nighthawks came in as #6 in the east but dismantled Philadelphia (#3) in 5, #1 overall Hartford in six and #2 Atlanta in 6 as well.
