Trade #37
3B Roger Cullifer (26-R) to Houston for SP John Krawczyk (23-L).
Cullifer was an All-Star for Vancouver (A) this year, hitting 16 HR, stealing 42 bases and drawing 63 walks. Unfortunately, he only hit .229. He plays solid defense.
Krawczyk was drafted in the 3rd round of this year's B League draft and looks to have some potential, though he will give up a home run or two. At the least, he should develop enough to be a decent left-handed option in the Pen.
Trade #38
LF Fernando Martinez (28-L) to New York for RP Denny Jennissen (29-R)
It amazed me how little interest there was in acquiring a player who hit .281 with 35 HR and 102 RBI and has won back to back Gold Gloves. I was hoping to get a decent starting pitcher for him, but everyone just laughed in my face.... I could not even get an elite reliever... Oh, well, I guess I cannot blame them, since I don't want him either.... That's a million dollars off the books now, at least...
Trade #39
Extremely minor deal
RF Jerry Gibbs (21-R) to Miami for C Victor Barron (25-S).
Gibbs is a 2.5 star prospect who is a slacker and cannot play D.
Barron is too old to be a prospect....
