The St. Louis River Walkers have placed outfielder Ender Inciarte on the injured list after he suffered a fractured hand while making a defensive play in an April 10 game against Des Moines at Busch Stadium (1997).
Although Inciarte is no longer a regular, Bryon Buxton is the center fielder and rookie Tyler Esplin is in right, he had gotten off to a good start in 2022 batting .750 with two RBIs.
He is expected to miss up to six weeks.
The River Walkers have called 25-year-old center fielder Edmond Americaan up from AAA Memphis.
The left-handed swinging Americaan hit .254, with eight homers and 28 RBIs in 98 games for the Redbirds in 2021.
