Kyle Hendricks allowed one run over six innings and St. Louis scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning to snap a tie and went on for a 4-1 win over Springfield at Busch Stadium (1997).
Back-to-back doubles from Andrew Benintendi and Bo Bichette off reliever Ryan Pressley got things started to open the bottom of the fifth.
A two-out pinch-hit single from Christian Arroyo off Pressley, scored Bichette to make it 3-1.
A Bryon Buxton RBI single in the eighth later made it 4-1.
Hendricks was impressive in his six innings on the mound, he allowed one run on seven hits. He struck out 10 and walked one.
Felipe Vazquez worked a scoreless seventh inning and Reyes Moronta and Bobby Poyner combined to do the same in the eighth.
Tommy Kahnle faced four batters and retired three in the ninth for his first save.
