Mantle had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from Don McMahon, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Yankees a 9-6 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Mantle.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Mantle said after the game.
The Red Sox had their three game winning streak snapped and are now 5-5 on the season, two games back of the first place Baltimore Orioles
