So after realizing I had an intel graphic card and not a NVIDIA, I updated drivers on the Intel. Ran the same game and noticed it was much faster and for the first time it went all the way. Just to note the computer I'm on is a brand new HP so I thought it would be up to date but apparently not. I'll continue to monitor this.
