We are in Dallas to play the PCL West division leading Eagles a 4 game series. The just lost 3 of 4 in Sacramento. We were 3-5 against them last season and 1-7 in 2001. They are 3rd in scoring in the PCL with 5.39 runs per game (Portland is up to 2nd with 5.42). we have scored 1 more run than they have. They lead the PCL in BA (.290) and SB (36). We are hitting .277 (3rd) and have stolen 25 bases (9th). The Eagles are 3rd in fewest runs allowed with 3.81 per game (Portland is #1 with 3.00). Their run differential is +49 and ours +75.

Portland Beavers (21-10 .677 in 1st place in the PCL West) at
Dallas Eagles (21-10 .677 in 1st place in the PCL East)

POR: Bill Woodward (22-R 2-2 5.88) Rookie vs. DAL: Jake Davidson (28-L Season debut)

2 starts ago, Woodward was 1 out from getting a shutout before he allowed a run; last time out, he gave up a run before he got an out and only went 1 inning and allowed 6 to score. If you are curious, none of the other rookie pitchers we took on this year are pitching very well for Vancouver.

Davidson is 14-14 with a 5.45 ERA in 44 career starts. We faced him once last year and he got a win, but only went 5 innings and gave us 8 hits and 3 walks, but we only scored twice.
