It was announced today that the Denver Brewers had signed free agent veteran star outfielder Brad Tesh to a 1-year contract. And fans in Denver were reportedly elated.
There is some question about where the career center fielder will play but the thought is that he will most likely get most of starts in left field while also providing relief to Joe McPhillips in center on occasion. The news softens the blow, a bit, of Brewers fans seeing superstar second baseman Bobby Erbakan leaving the field clearly shaken in Monday's game. While the nature and seriousness of Erbakan's injury is still to be decided, the addition of Tesh's power bat in the lineup could certainly be advantageous should Erbakan need to go to the IL.
(Note: Tesh didn't go for the minor league contract we originally offered him, but we were able to get him to sign to a reasonable- for a potential future HOF'er- 1-year deal.)
