Walkers news: May 26 -- Springfield 5, St. Louis 4, 10 innings

Record: 24-22, 3rd, 2.5 GB Springfield
Chris Davis singled off St. Louis reliever Tommy Kahnle with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning to score Michael Brantley and give Springfield a 5-4 win at Olympic Stadium.
With the win, the Prairie Fighters took the final game of three-game series.
Brantley had reached with a one-out single off Kahnle. He moved to second when Russell Martin followed with another single.
Kahnle struck out Kevin Pillar for the second out, bringing Davis to the plate.
A wild pitch moved Brantley to third.

Three pitches later, Davis singled past second baseman Bo Bichette to drive in the game-winning run.
An RBI single from Christian Arroyo and a run-scoring fielder's choice from Bichette in the fourth inning off Josh Hader gave the River Walkers a 3-0 lead.
All of it disappeared in the bottom of the inning.
Russell Martin smoked a two-run homer off St. Louis starting pitcher Luiz Gohara.

Pillar followed with a double and scored when relier pitcher Matt Andriese coaxed a single to even it.
Brantley greeted relief pitcher Phil Maton with a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth, putting Springfield up 4-3.
However, the Walkers evened it in the top of the seventh on a solo shot from Andrew Benintendi off Anyelo Gomez.
Springfield starter Josh Hader lasted just three innings, giving up three runs on six hits.
Six relievers followed him to the mound, with the last of them Gerson Moreno earning the win after pitching scoreless ninth and 10th innings.
