ATTELL RETAINS TITLE IN A BOXING MATCH

Abe Attell (12-3-1) outboxed Jem Driscoll (12-2) over 15 rounds to retain the LBA Featherweight title and also to avenge an earlier defeat. Driscoll stopped Attell on 4-22-1901 due to a bad gash over his left eye in round 2. This fight Attell never really gave him a chance. Attell's superior speed and defense kept Driscoll off balance the whole fight and Attell cruised to victory.

I had it 146-140. Christopher Almodovar at ringside had it 147-139. The official judges had it a little closer surprisingly, they scored it 144-142/146-139/143-142. The closer two scores were by the judges I sat up to be bias to the champ. It was a nice surprise.

Attell now has avenged all 3 of his loses.

On the undercard

BW - Joe Wagner UD10 Chappie Moran
WW - Joe Walcott UD10 Otto Sieloff
HW - Jim Flynn TKO6 Jack Scales (Flynn still a beginner)
LW - Jimmy Mitchell UD10 Charles McCarthy (club fight)
BW - Frankie Neil UD10 Patsy Haley (club fight)
