Walkers news: April 24 -- Kansas City 6, St. Louis 3

Record: 8-5, 1st, 0.5 GA Kansas City and Des Moines
Joey Gallo hit a three-run home run off St. Louis starting pitcher Alex Faedo in the top of the first inning to stake Kansas City to an early lead, and the Pit Masters never trailed on their way to a 6-3 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
An RBI double from Christian Arroyo off K.C. starter Max Fried in the bottom of the sixth and a run-scoring single from J.T. Realmuto off reliever Kyle Nelson in the seventh pulled the River Walkers to within 3-2.
But the Masters were quick to rebuild their advantage.
Tyler Frank opened the top of the eighth with a homer off Eduardo Jimenez.
After St. Louis cut the deficit back to one in the bottom of the eighth -- Michael Toglia driving in the run on a fielder's choice against Andrew Ryan -- Kansas City struck again in the top of the ninth, this time tallying twice on a Yordan Alvarez homer off Cingrani
Byron Buxton left the game after being hit by a pitch in the third inning.
He was diagnosed with a bruised hand and is expected to miss five days.
Fried was strong on the bump of Kansas City, allowing just one run on one hit in 5.1 innings. He struck out four and walked one.
Nelson finished the sixth inning.
Nathan Karns, Ryan and Zach Burdi all worked an inning apiece to close it out.
For Burdi, it was his second save of the season.
