It's 1st January 2019, and the Euro Baseball Association (EUBA) is born!
A two-level association of leagues, the EUBA features...
1) Euro Baseball, the Premier competition, for 32 teams across 8 divisions, with only one conference! Playoffs will feature 1-8 seeding for divisional winners. A level-10 league, playing 108 regular season games, and an end-season All-Star game. The lowest team by winning % each season will be Relegated to the lower tier!
2) Continental Baseball, the second-tier competition, for 16 teams across 4 divisions and 2 conferences. Playoffs will feature division winners in each conference playing to get to the championship series - and Promotion to Euro Baseball! A level-7 league, playing 108 regular season games, and an end-season All-Star game. This league's teams have roughly 50% revenue power of the top-league teams.
Each country only has one team across both leagues, which leads to some interesting locations playing baseball. I've tried to pick names which have something to do with the history or location of each city, and team colours are those of the nation it plays in.
Finally, i'm planning to try an Autumn Knockout Cup competition - every team from the association playing in a 1-game shootout over a fortnight or so! Hopefully can get that to work
