Punches missed should always be lower for realistic clinching to occur.

I use use following tables
HP 3pt Range
1 0 to 3
2 3 to 6
3 6 to 9
4 10 to 12
5 13 to 15
6 16 to 20
7 21 to 25
8 26 to 30
9 31 to 36
10 37 to 42
11 42 to 44
12 45 to 47
13 48 to 50
14 51 to 54

The clinching number in the rating is merely a breakpoint. Numbers above the PM up to the CL number represent clinching while everything above the CL represents RM.
I generally use the table
PM - CL
57 - 67 to 69
58 - 68 to 70
59 - 68 to 70
60 - 69 to 71
61 - 69 to 71
62 - 70 to 72
63 - 70 to 72
64 - 71 to 73
If a fighter is a very crude, like a prize ring fighter in the Queensbury transition era I'll bump CL up to 74

Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. You made my day, mate.
I was watching the Louis-Buddy Baer fight again the other day and noticed that Baer didn't seem to know how to clinch (or really use a jab either). How do you replicate that when creating a fighter?
