In the top of the first, Burroughs knocked Harrah in with a single. Still, every out of the inning was a RogerNelson K.

Hand had a no-hitter through three.

After three: Texas 1 Kansas City 0.

In the top of the fourth, Mayberry broke up the no-hitter with a leadoff double. But he would be stranded atsecond.

In the top of the fifth, it was a run-scoring single by Harrah that increased the Rangers lead.

In the bottom of the fifth, Taylor got an RBI single.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Royals loaded the bases with nobody out. The Royals then scored two on a Schaal two-bagger to take the lead. An intentional walk again loaded the bases with nobody out. Taylor flew to right without bringing in a run. One down. Roger Nelson flew to center and then Maddox threw Scheinblum out at home to end the inning.

After six: Kansas City 3 Texas 2.

In the top of the eighth with one out, Tom Burgmeier took the mound for the Royals.

In the bottom of the eighth with one out, Paul Lindblad took the mound for the Rangers.

In the top of the ninth, Ford hit a one out single but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double. Kubiak then grounded out to end the game.
