My strategy
I like to alternate pull and spray hitters if I can't alternate lefties with righties. This way, I keep the defense moving before each batter, and this hopefully tires them out to the point where I can score a few extra singles and doubles each season.
I notice this effect is especially strong in the hot summer months of July and August. By playoff time, I stop using this strategy because moving the defense around keeps them warm and limber, thus enabling them to get to more balls than they otherwise would.
