The Rangers begin a seven game home stand with a three game weekend series against the Chicago White Sox. The White Sox have won three of their last four. In the top of the fourth, Johnstone tied the game with a sacrifice fly.

In the bottom of the fifth, Harrah put the Rangers back in the lead with an RBI single. With a runner at first and two out, Denny O'Toole took the mound for the White Sox and struck out Nelson to end the inning.

After six: Texas 2 Chicago 1.

In the bottom of the seventh, Steve Kealey took the mound for the White Sox.

In the top of the eighth, Horacio Pina took the mound for the Rangers.

In the top of the ninth, Hermann tied the game with a 336 foot blast to left. Later in the inning, Kelly gave the White Sox the lead with an RBI single. May brought Kelly home with a double. With runners at first and second and two out, Paul Lindblad took the mound for the Rangers and he got Melton to groundout to finally end the inning.

In the bottom of the ninth, Terry Forster took the mound for the White Sox. The Rangers put runners on first and second but pinch hitter Vic Harris grounded to second to end the game.

Final score: Chicago 4 Texas 2.
