Walkers news: Sept. 14 -- Twin Cities 5, St. Louis 1, Game 1

Twin Cities starting pitcher Mack Anglin recorded 23 outs before giving up a hit to help lead Twin Cities to a 5-1 win over St. Louis at Busch Stadium (1997).
A two-out single from Jared Thomas in the bottom of the eighth inning was the first hit for the River Walkers.
That also ended Anglin's time on the mound, as he exited after the one hit over 7.2 innings. He struck out six and walked one.
Jonathan Cooper got the final out of the eighth.
St. Louis did get a run against Thyago Vieria in the bottom of the ninth, Edmond Americaan had led off with a double and scored on a Jean Carmona sacrifice fly, but it didn't mean much as the Snow Cats already led 5-0.
Twin Cities got to Walkers starting pitcher Argenis Batista for two runs in the top of the first.
It started right away with a lead-off single from Roc Riggio, followed by a double by Byron Buxton which put runners at second and thir.d
Jonathan India drove them both home with a single.
The lead reached 3-0 in the sixth when Josiah Miller and Jake Burger unleashed back-to-back two-out doubles off Batista.
Anglin got in on the offense in the seventh, with a one-out single off reliever Nick Lodolo.
He scored when Roc Riggio doubled.
The Cats got their final run in the ninth.
Jose Devers led off with a single off Williams Jerez.
A single from pinch-hitter Eloy Jimenez moved him to third.
Devers scored on a Riggo ground out.
