Steven Williams hit three homers and Matt Wallner hit two as Chicago powered its way to an 8-1 win over St. Louis at Busch Stadium (1997).
Williams first homer, a solo blast, off River Walkers starting pitcher Argenis Batista in the top of the second opening the scoing.
Wallner and Williams both homered off Batista in the top of the fourth inning.
Wallner's blast was worth two runs. Four pitches later, Williams launched one 403 feet to make it 4-0.
Williams led off the seventh with his second homer of the game, this one off reliever Williams Jerez, to make it 5-1.
Nolan Jones added an RBI single later in the inning.
Wallner hit a two-run shot off reliever Nick Lodolo in the eighth, making it 8-1.
G-Men starting pitcher Jake Mullholland was impressive, allowing one run on three hits over seven innings. He struck out five and walked one.
Ben Bowden didn't allow a base runner over the final two innings.
