2074 Season (4/6-4/8 Vs. Vancouver)

4/6/74 (Game 4): Vancouver (SP Julian Brooks 0-0, 0.00 ERA) @ Phoenix (SP Ash Newman 0-0, 0.00 ERA)
Whitecaps Slip Past Phoenix, 5-4
The only thing worse than losing your home opener is losing game 7 of the World Series at home. I might be being a bit dramatic there, I know it. We gave Old Man Donny the day off and Derek, lost without his brother in the lineup, went 1-4 with a run, a walk, and a strikeout looking. Ash only managed to pitch 2.1 innings – he left with arm soreness after only giving up 2 hits and 1 earned.
Player of the Game: SP Julian Brooks 6.1 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 5 K’s, and gave up a homer to PEPPER in the 3rd (107th pick out of the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2070)

4/7/74 (Game 5): Vancouver (SP Jake Renfer 0-0, 0.00 ERA) @ Phoenix (SP Del Miller 0-0, 0.00 ERA)
Suns Deal Whitecaps Painful Loss, Suns win 12-11.
We gave Old Man Derek the day off and he missed most of this long slog. 14 innings of back and forth baseball. Donny went 2-6 with 2 runs, an RBI, 2 walks, and 3 K’s. Derek pinch hit in the 8th and drew a walk. PEPPER went 3-6 (a single and two doubles) with 3 runs, 2 RBI, and a walk. I promise that I didn’t mess with his stats.
Player of the Game: 3B PEPPER Grant 3-6, 3 R, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K (64th pick out of Mississippi State)

4/8/74 (Game 6): Vancouver (SP Bill Marvin) @ Phoenix (SP Isaiah Zuno)
Welp… Zuno gave up 9 runs in the 2nd inning and got yanked… Both Jeter Bros. played in the game and went a combined 6-9 with 4 runs, 3 RBI, and 1 K… Derek went 4-4! Boss. PEPPER got 5 ribbies on 2 homers including a GRAND SLAM.
Player of the Game: 3B PEPPER Grant 2-4, 2 R, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K (64th pick out of Mississippi State)

Note: PEPPER absolutely crushed his former team in this series. He won a World Series and ROTY with Vancouver, but couldn’t agree on contract terms in the offseason and ended up in Phoenix.

We welcome Oklahoma City to town for a three-game set next...
