Walkers news: Brentz signed to free-agent contract
The St. Louis River Walkers have made their first major move of the offseason, signing left-handed reliever Jake Brentz.
The 28-year-old Brentz agreed to a three-year deal worth $2.43 million, the third season featuring a team option.
Last season, Brentz pitched for Fort Wayne, getting into 45 games and going 1-3 with 20 saves. He boasted an ERA of 2.84 and WHIP of 1.29.
He pitched a total of 44.1 innings, and struck out 57.
