Here's what you do:
1. Act like you are about to start a game.
2. The screen should have 4 tabs across the top: The first one, that should be shown, is "Options & Preview"
3. There is a tab in the bottom left of the screen that says "Simulate World in Background." Select no.

I hope that helps. I play every game, too, and it took me awhile to figure it out.
