09/24/1972 - Giants Stymie Los Angeles, Take 4-1 Win
San Francisco and Los Angeles duked it out at Dodger Stadium and the Giants came out victorious.
Giants starter Jim Barr was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-1. Elias Sosa, credited with the save, is now 5 for 5 in save opportunities.
The Giants got a big at-bat from first baseman Dave Kingman. In the top of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run off LHP Claude Osteen. His 36th home run of the season gave San Francisco a 2-0 lead.
"Kingman is still learning," said Giants manager Charile Fox. "The sky's the limit for him."
