It's 1901 Draft Pool Announcement time! LF Jonathan Burleson of the Washington Huskies is the number one draft prospect and LHP Joe Herberholz (Buford Wolves, GHSA) is the overall top high schooler.

Last year, Herberholz finished second in the pitcher of the year voting, while Burleson was an NCAA All-Star and the best hitting left fielder. It remains to be seen what, if any awards they will win this year.

All of the free agents that are draft-eligible this year are players who failed to sign from the draft in 1900. For those players that are too old to return to college, that's kind of too bad for them. They return the next year and will typically sign. There are some players that will fail to sign but could still go to college (e.g. Mike Southworth). I will be watching out for those players now and manually put them into college instead of having them sit out a year and return to the draft.
