June 18 - Nick Robertson (27-R) of Denver pitched a 3 hit shutout at home versus Minnesota. He walked 3 and struck out 5. He is now 2-5 with a 4.76 ERA in 7 starts. The Bears won, 3 to 0.
June 18 - RF Dale Ainsworth (27-L) of New York had 4 hits with a triple and 2 home runs, including a Grand Slam, drew a walk, stole a base, scored 3 runs and had 7 RBI at home versus Washington. The Giants won, 14 to 6.
June 19 - Pete McKendrick (27-R) of Oakland pitched a 4 hits shutout at home versus San Diego. He walked 4 and struck out 7. It was his 3rd Major League start and first win. Ge is now 1-2 with a 2.91 ERA. The Oaks won, 4 to 0.
June 19 - 3B/1B Steve Merritt (26-L) of Brooklyn had 3 hits with 2 home runs and 2 walks, scored 4 runs and had 4 RBI at Baltimore. The Dodgers won, 10 to 3.
June 19 - Cleveland lost SP Pete Gatton (27-R) for a full calendar year to torn labrum. He was 0-4 with a 3.86 ERA in 9 starts. Last year, he was 17-5 with a 2.58 ERA in 29 starts.
June 21 - Ray Bankston (31-L) of Milwaukee pitched a 3 hit shutout at home versus Kansas City. He walked 1 and struck out 9. It is his 2nd shutout of the season. He is now 10-4 with a 3.60 ERA in 17 starts. The Brewers won, 5 to 0.
June 21 - Vern Oberman (29-L) of St. Louis pitched a 2 hits shutout at home versus Cleveland. He walked 4 and struck out 4. He beaned a batter.
It is his second shutout of the season. He is now 8-4 with a 2.45 ERA in 17 starts. The Cardinals won, 2 to 0.
June 22 - 3B Damien Carr (28-L) of Detroit hit 2 home runs and had 5 RBI at home versus Chicago. The Tigers won, 9 to 5.
June 23 - Andy Byers (33-R) of Boston pitched a 5 hit shutout at home versus New York. He walked 1 and struck out 1. It is his 2nd shutout of the season. He is now 7-7 with a 3.63 ERA. He was 19-4 with a 2.97 ERA last year.
June 23 - LF Glenn Brazell (30-L) of Cincinnati had 3 hits with a double and a home run and 5 RBI at Pittsburgh. The Reds won, 7 to 5.
June 23 - In the 2nd game of a double header at St. Louis, Cleveland won, 11 to 9. RF Jonah Sivertson (24-L) only hit 2 singles, but scored a run and had 5 RBI. For the Cardinals, 2B Joe Froelich (23-R) had 3 hits with a double and a home run, drew a walk and had 5 RBI. The Cardinals won the 1st game, 8 to 2.
