MLB news: World Series Game 3 -- St. Louis 7, Dayton 4, 12 innings

St. Louis scored four times in the top of the 12th inning to win a wild Game 3 and move within a victory of a sweep in the Midwest Baseball League World Series.
Twice, Dayton had hit late-game home runs to knot the game -- Domingo Santana hit a two-run shot off Brad Boxberger in the eighth inning to tie it at 2-2, in the 10th Andrelton Simmons took Sean Doolittle deep to even it at 3-3 -- but the Fighter Pilots had no answer for the River Walkers big top of the 12th.
A one-out single from Andrew Benintendi off Dayton reliever Douyvdas Neverauskas got things going for the Walkers.A Rhys Hoskins double off A.J. Ramos scored Benintendi.
Tucker Barnhart and Brock Holt later added RBI singles off Ramos.
St. Louis took an early lead with a two-run homer from Alex Bregman off Dayton starting pitcher Steven Matz in the second inning.
The extra innings overshadowed a strong start from the Walkers' Trevor Bauer, who threw six scoreless innings. He struck out six and walked one while allowing just a pair of hits.
