Aaron Nola pitched eight shutout innings and Bobby Poyner handled the ninth as St. Louis downed Kansas City 4-0 at Busch Stadium (1997).
With the win, the River Walkers split the two-game series with the Pit Masters.
Nola allowed just three hits in his eight innings. He struck out 11 and walked none.
Kansas City went down in order against Poyner in the ninth.
The Walkers got all four of their runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
After retiring the first batter, Danny BarnesC allowed three straight batters to reach, in addition to a wild pitch which allowed Nola, who had singled, to score the game's first run.
Christian Arroyo drove in the other three runs with a bases-loaded double off Andrew Ryan.
Masters starting pitcher Dinelson Lamet also didn't allow a run, but lasted just 5.1 innings.
