I'm on Windows 8 and my video/graphics card is updated.

When I try to play out a game in OOTP 19, the game crashes to desktop and I get the message

"ootp19.exe has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

I've tried loading with Modern 3D, Classic 2D, Webcast, etc... everything ends up the same.

The sound on my laptop also stopped working several months ago and when I load the game I get a pop up that says "unknown sound error"... Not sure if that's related at all but figured I'd mention it.

For whatever it's worth, I loaded up OOTP 17 and the same thing happens when I try to start a game there. I know that didn't used to be the case. So seems clearly to be a problem somehow with my computer and what's going on with it as opposed to an OOTP issue. Anyone with an idea how to fix this?
