Game 19 – April 30
13 – Royals
5 – Detroit
10 Innings

WP – Dan Quisenberry (1-0)
LP – Bob Stanley (1-1)

Crazy 10th inning to say the least. We traded runs and the lead a few times in the 6th, 7th and the 9th. We took the lead in the 9th as Wilson and Trammell, playing in his first game against his old team, scored on Brett and Cooper singles.

But after Quiz got the first out in the 9th, he gave up three consecutive singles and the Tigers tied the game at 5.

But in the top of the 10th, we took advantage of 2 Tiger errors. 2 doubles, 3 singles, and a walk all lead to a Hal McRae 3-run home run. 12 batters came to the plate and 8 scored.

Quiz started the bottom of the 10th with a comfortable lead, but I pulled him for Farr after two consecutive singles.

Brett finished the game with 5 hits. Cooper had 4 RBI's. Saberhagen started and gave up 4 runs in 7 innings.

Game 20 – April 30
1 – Royals
10 – Detroit

WP – Mario Soto (5-0)
LP – Charlie Leibrandt (1-3)

It was the Tigers' turn to run up 8 in an inning, this time the 4th. All 10 runs were charged to Leibrandt, who gave up 2 home runs among 10 hits.

Mario Soto signed a 6-year deal in the offseason for $1.2m a year. He leads the Majors in wins and took home the April American League Pitcher of the Month award.

Alan Trammell went 3-7 against his old team and extended his current hitting streak to 14 games. He scored 2 runs and collected an RBI.

George Brett was 7-10 against the Tigers and improved his BA to .376.

Hal McRae has 3 home runs and is tied with Brett and Baines for the team lead. He's also started only 5 games.

Melido Perez won the American Association's Pitcher of the Month Award. He's 4-1 for AAA Omaha with a 1.49 ERA. He's struck out 33 in 42 innings. Perez turns 21 next February.

Through the first month of the season there are 9 teams playing over .600 ball in both leagues.
