In the top of the eighth, the Indians had runners at first and second with one out when Jim Panther took the mound for the Rangers. He prevented the Indians from adding to their lead in the inning.

Casey Cox took the mound for the Rangers in the top of the ninth. Nettles addedan RBI double to the already insurmountable lead. Bell chipped in a sacrifice fly to bring home one more run.

Perry went on to finish the complete game shutout.

The Indians out hit the Rangers 11-2.

Final score: Cleveland 7 Texas 0.
