August 4th – RHSP A.J. Alexy was demoted to AAA after pitching one game, 4.1IP 1ER, and Alec Hansen was activated off the DL.

August 8th – First baseman Bobby Bradley(23, 2.5/3.5*) was sent to AAA on a rehab assignment. He will get the full time as we have no immediate need to rush him.

August 12th – The Rangers had to place their new catcher Danny Jensen(24, 2/3*) on the 10-day DL with a fractured hand. He was hit by a pitch in a 3-0 loss to Milwaukee and will miss 5 weeks. AAA catcher Matt Whatley(23, 0.5/2.5*) was called up to catch together with Josh Morgan.

Houston, we seem to have a pitcher... or more than one. Abreu had a 4.97ERA, Jurado had a 4.67ERA, then comes Thompson with a 4.38ERA... and then we come to the hot kids. Adbert Alzolay posted a 2.70ERA in his first MLB month, and Alec Hanson put a 2.73 on the board. And with that, a bit of hot offense and some luck, we went 20-8 this month.... 20 and ******* 8.

Then there is Mr. Odor with 11HR and a 1.101OPS, Billy McKinney and his 1.074OPS... Nomar Mazara with 13HR and a 1.053OPS, Justin Williams and his .337 batting average, Willie Calhoun and his .326 batting average... in short, everything went our way... perfectly. Oh, and someone hit for the CYCLE...

I got a glimpse at the boss yesterday, and he smiled at me like it is Christmas... guess he liked our performance this month as we are close to .500 and third in the division... so much for bringing in a bunch of young kids and try to get a high draft pick next year...

As for September callups, we will bring up RHP A.J. Alexy and LHP Brady M. Feigl for the bullpen, as well as 2B Brandow Lowe and OF Yanio Perez and call it there. Quite frankly we don't have a lot of developed players in AAA that are on the 40-man, and no reason to put a Thomas Szapucki kind of player on the 40-man and start his service time here.
