The Columbus Clippers began the season with a six game road trip that started with a three game series in Indianapolis against the Indians.

In the top of the first, Allen hit a solo home run to put the Clippers on the board first.

Reyes led off the bottom of the first with a home run to tie the game. Osuna added a two run homer to give the Indians the lead.

In the top of the third, Mejia came through with a two-out RBI single to make it a one run game.

After three: Indianapolis 3 Columbus 2.

In the top of the fifth, Shaffer tied the game with an RBI single.

In the top of the sixth, Damien Magnifico took the mound for the Indians.

In the bottom of the sixth, Stallings put the Indians back in the lead with a sacrifice fly. Lindsey added his own sacrifice fly to increase the lead back to a pair.

After six: Indianapolis 5 Columbus 3.

After a lead off walk in the top of the eighth, Tyler Eppler took the mound for the Indians. Napoli would give the Clippers the lead back with a three run homer. With nobody out, Tanner Anderson took the mound for the Indians. Garcia would score on a wild pitch to give the Clippers a two-run lead.

Preston Claiborne took the mound for the Clippers in the bottom of the eighth.

Evan Marshall took the mound for the Clippers in the bottom of the ninth and put the Indians down in order to get the save.

The Indians lost despite recording 11 hits as a team as well as notching 14 Ks from their pitchers.

Final score: Columbus 7 Indianapolis 5.
