St. Louis Cardinals - Arizona Diamondbacks @ Chase Field

CF Aaron Hicks was diagnosed with a strained hamstring(3 weeks), and is out for the playoffs.

1B Jordan Patterson(23, 2*) was claimed from the Colorado Rockies. He can play 1B,3B,LF,RF and will compete for a bench spot next year. He has three options left, and I guess they wanted to smuggle him through... bad luck guys.

STL: SP Shelby Miller 0-1 6.43ERA
ARI: SP Archie Bradley 1-0 0.00ERA

Bryan will start in center field and bat 8th against the RHP. Bradley has a red flame besides his name, and we hope to keep it that way at home, and hoped for a long outing to rest the pen. A 1-2-3 inning by him, followed up by a 2-out solo shot by Goldy got the game rolling in the right direction. Lamb walked to leadoff the 2nd, and Wieters advanced him to 2nd with a one out hit, but Bryan and Owings made outs. Bradley breezed through the early innings, and Polanco reached leading off the 3rd again, but Miller suddently got three quick outs. Both pichers matched zeroes till the 5th, when another solo shot woke up the crowd... Matt Wieters to CF, 437ft, 2-0.

A DP ended another chance that inning while Bradley had a 3-hitter through six. Goldy was up in the 6th with one out... and slashed ANOTHER ONE INTO THE BLEACHERS 3-0. Bradley got tired in the 8th, and was pulled after allowing a run to get Buchter on against the Cards lefties, and he got a easy out from Wong. Rosenthal was summoned to save the game against his former team, and gave up a solo shot on his third pitch to Tavares. A strikeout and two singles by Belt and Carpenter got everybody sweating, and Geovany Soto was up with one out.... BALL FOUR BASES LOADED. John Jay next.... single into center 4-3 STL. Rosenthal got two quick outs after that, but BLEW THE SAVE. His replacement, Joe Thatcher K'ed Wieters and Bryan, and got Owings to ground out.
